Heat Press Instructions

Proper Application for High-Quality DTF Transfers

Correct heat press application is critical to ensure strong adhesion, soft feel, and long-lasting durability of your DTF transfers.

Follow these instructions carefully for best results.

🔥 Standard DTF Heat Press Settings

Temperature

300–320°F (149–160°C)

Pressure

Medium to Firm Pressure

Time

10–15 seconds

Peel Type

Cold Peel

Allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1️⃣ Pre-Press the Garment

Press the blank garment for 5–7 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

Moisture can weaken adhesion.

2️⃣ Position the Transfer

Place the DTF transfer print side down on the garment in the desired location.

Double-check alignment before pressing.

3️⃣ First Press

Press at 300–320°F for 10–15 seconds using medium to firm pressure.

Avoid shifting the garment during pressing.

4️⃣ Cold Peel

Allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling the film.

Peeling while warm may cause lifting.

5️⃣ Second Press (Recommended)

Cover with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5–10 seconds.

This step improves durability and wash performance.

Fabric Compatibility

Our DTF transfers work well on:

  • Cotton

  • Polyester

  • Cotton/Poly blends

  • Tri-blends

  • Performance fabrics

Always test on a sample garment when working with new materials.

Wash & Care Instructions

For best longevity:

  • Wait 24 hours before washing

  • Wash inside out

  • Use cold water

  • Avoid bleach

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry

  • Do not iron directly on the design

Proper care ensures long-lasting vibrancy and durability.

Common Application Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using a household iron instead of a heat press

  • Applying insufficient pressure

  • Peeling before cooling

  • Incorrect temperature

  • Not performing a second press

Most adhesion issues come from pressure errors, not temperature.

Important Notes

Heat presses vary by brand and model.
We recommend verifying your press temperature using an infrared thermometer for accuracy.

If lifting occurs:

  • Increase pressure slightly

  • Re-press for 5–7 seconds

  • Ensure full cooling before peeling
